Alo I hope everyone and by that I mean the two people that actually follow me, has a great time this weekend. Since it is the 4th of July holidays this got me to thinking about our fabulous country with its freedom of choice and our illustrious politicians. That put me on the path of the latest scandal. Our gentleman from the south who recently got caught in flagrante . I’m of course refering to Senator Sanford and his missus , no not the Mrs the Amante(Mistress).
I’m what I imagine most people call a liberal media elitist or so I’d like to think. My work in film/photo production qualifies me for at least a part of this title. Having said that, one would imagine that I would vilify him for A. being a Republican and B. Having a mistress. Wrong! I think he’s kinda cool I dig that he’s a cute Republican, I agree with some of his ideas or whatever and I certainly admire his chutzpa at not only having a mistress, but saying sod it and flying off to meet her.
As it turns out he not only has his Senorita , he has written very lovely emails to her (you can read them here ) ahh soo cute . They are flowery and bring a tear to my eye type of emails. All about the curve of her hips etc. Now I would think his wife also has hips why is he not so superfluous and waxing poetic about them? He also said something about Senorita’s globes well that may be different. Mrs may not have quite what counts as globes but she does have something going on so why stray? That I can’t answer for him, but I can speak from the POV of the other woman. Yes this may amaze you guys but yours truly has been a Miss, an Amante, a Senorita you get it ….. shocking I’m sure.
While I was riding in the sidecar of a bicycle built for two, I felt days of saddness ok mainly because my ‘boyfriend’ had to spend most important holidays at home. Christmas and Valentines days tend to be lonely affairs. But you learn to get over those feelings very quickly. If you want to date someone whos spoken for you have got to be selfless. Most attached parties dont want to cheat; see what I found is that usually the BF just really wants someone to talk to and hangout with who doesnt come with monagramed emotional baggage. They are looking for a way to escape what may be a safe albeit dull existence .
I know what you may be thinking and its probably, what about the person who isn’t in on this little thrill ride ?. Well I believe they somewhere down line they may have forgotten about sending those lovely emails like in the beginning, the emails now are all about what to pick up at the store on the way home . Wheres the romance in that ? I’m not saying that the affected party is all wrong but it does take two in a relationship and when one side drops out of the game well then …..
I don’t know exactly where I’m goin with this but I do feel that Senator Sanford is not all wrong. Yes yes he cheated; ok but we don’t have all the facts and it does seem that he really has a genuine affection for this new person in his life. It somehow makes me feel that its ok like he’s not all sleazy and that he does have some sort of morals and values and that is a good thing. I know using the words morals and values in a post where I admit to being a third party in a marriage may seem a bit hypocritical, but there you have it . By the way if your wondering have I ever had the shoe on the other foot the answer is……. yes.
